Davis Mrs. Tankie Mae Taylor Davis, 74, Horseshoe Drive, Johnson City, died Sunday, May 12, 2002, at her residence. Mrs. Davis was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Edward and Easter Lowe Taylor. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Paxton, Guy and Elwood Taylor, and two sisters, Lizzie and Vergie Taylor. Mrs. Davis was a retired employee of Jiffy Cleaners. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Dean Roberts, Johnson City; a granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Regina and Brad Rambo, Jonesborough; a grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Michael and Donna Roberts, Elizabethton; and five great-grandchildren, Gabrielle Grace, Jacob and Joshua Rambo (triplets), and Krisley and Kaitlyn Roberts. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. DAVIS -- Graveside services for Mrs. Tankie Mae Taylor Davis, 74, Horseshoe Drive, Johnson City, who died Sunday, May 12, 2002, will be conducted at 12 noon Wednesday, May 15, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with the Rev. Curtis Hurt officiating. Interment will follow the service. Music will be provided by Jackie Phillips. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, will be Michael Roberts, Brad Rambo, Bobby Clifton, Dean Blevins, Leroy Oliver and W.C. Rasnick. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Dean Roberts, Horseshoe Drive, Johnson City. To those who prefer, memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. Davis to the Veterans Memorial Fund, c/o City Finance Director, 136 S. Sycamore Street, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
