WASHINGTON COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Howard Clifford Freeman, 14 Feb 2005 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Howard C. Freeman Howard Clifford Freeman, 81, 306 Dyer Street, Johnson City, went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ, Monday, February 14, 2005, at Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Freeman was born in Carter County but had lived in Johnson City all of his life. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He served in Germany and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a truck driver, having worked with ET&WNC and Red Ball prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Teamsters Local No. 549 and a member of the Prayer Tabernacle Church for 25 years. Mr. Freeman loved to fly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Tom Freeman. Survivors include his wife, Edna Mae Clyburn Freeman, of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Kay Freeman, Carter County, and Clifford and Brenda Freeman, Jonesborough; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Donald Greer and Elaine and Mike Babb, all of Carter County; a brother, Thomas Freeman, Johnson City; a sister, Christine Jefferson, Johnson City; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great- grandchildren; two great-great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Kenneth and Steve Holden and Gladys Weaver for their kindness and support. A celebration of the life service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 16, in the Morris-Baker North Chapel with Rev. Johnny Hilton, Rev. Israel Ochoa and Rev. Greg Wagner officiating. Active pallbearers will be Josh Presnell, Charles Presnell, Mike Freeman, Tim Freeman, Steve Holden and Cathy Campbell. Honorary pallbearers will be T.C. McIver and Shannon Hoilman. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Committal services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 17, at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends will gather at Morris-Baker by 10:40 a.m. Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery for those services.
