Helen L. Hodges 





    Helen Louise Hodges, 88, formerly of 328 Highland Avenue, Johnson City, 

passed away Sunday, December 18, 2005, at Life Care Center of Elizabethton 

after an extended illness. 





    Mrs. Hodges was a native of Washington County and a daughter of the late 

Arthur and Lena Mosier Matherly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded 

in death by her husband, Charles M. Hodges, in 1992, and by two sisters and two 

brothers. 





    Mrs. Hodges was a member of University Parkway Baptist Church. She retired 

from the Nettie Lee Ladies Shop after nearly 35 years of service. 





    Survivors include her three children, Kenneth N. Hodges, Morristown, 

Carolyn Nave, Elizabethton, and Larry D. Hodges, Johnson City, and six 

grandchildren, Chuck Yarbrough, Angela Stewart, Michael Hodges, Thomas Hodges, 

Andy Hodges and Ryan Nave. Two great-grandchildren and several nieces and 

nephews also survive. 





    The funeral service for Mrs. Hodges will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday, 

December 20, from the Morris-Baker South Chapel with Dr. Michael Oaks and Rev. 

Leroy Davis officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 

for two hours prior to the funeral service. Graveside services will be held at 

11 a.m. Wednesday, December 21, at Monte Vista Burial Park. David White, Robert 

Stewart and Mrs. Hodges' five grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Friends and 

family are asked to assemble at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. Wednesday to go 

in procession to the cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the Hodges
