WASHINGTON COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Irene P. Harvell, 18 Sep 2003 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Irene P. Harvell Irene P. Harvell, age 78, formerly of E. Locust St., Johnson City, died Thursday, September 18, 2003, in the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital following several years of illness. Ms. Harvell was a native of Burnsville, N.C. and was a daughter of the late Mallie and Dora Bell Tolley Parker. She retired as a dietician for the Johnson City Eye Hospital and also had worked HCA. Ms. Harvell was a member of The Bible Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Norman Parker; one sister, Clara Robinson, and one grandson, Mark Hardin. Survivors include one son, Harold "Gene" Harvell, and his wife Dianne, Hickory, N.C.; two daughters, Brenda Hardin and husband Roby, Conover, N.C., and Faye Sullivan and her husband, Hugh, Johnson City; one half-brother, Joe Denton, Johnson City; three grandchildren, Matthew Stewart, Conover, N.C.; Regina Stewart and Tamara Owens, both of Johnson City; and four great-grandchildren, Ansley Owens, Leah Owens, Codi Stewart and Wesley Stewart. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The graveside funeral service for Ms. Harvell will be held Tuesday, September 23, 2003, at 2:30 p.m. in Roselawn Memory Gardens with Rev. James Cambron officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Appalachian Funeral Home. Condolences may be made online at www. appalachianfuneralhome.com.
