Ruth Hensley

Mrs. Ruth Hensley, 79, Lowridge Road, Johnson City, Tenn., 
died Thursday, November 13, 2003, at Hillview Health Care Center, 
Elizabethton, following an extended illness.
Mrs. Hensley was a native of Banner Elk, N.C., and the daughter of 
the late Jess and Leona Lowrance Puckett. She was also preceded in 
death by two brothers, a sister and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Hensley was a homemaker and a member of The Jesus Church House 
of Prayer, Riceville, Tenn.
Survivors include her husband, Foy Hensley, of the home; four daughters 
and sons-in-law, Joann and George Coontz, Junction City, Ky., Debbie 
and Clarence Perry, Elizabethton, Tenn., Judy and Harold Atkins, 
Sweetwater, Tenn., and Tresia and Charles Scalf, Johnson City, Tenn.; 
a son, Jessie Hensley, Athens, Tenn.; a sister, Sofia Aldridge, Wise, 
Va.; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Several nieces and 
nephews also survive. 
Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Hensley will be conducted at 1 p.m. 
Monday, November 17, 2003, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy 
Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas King officiating. Music will be by 
The Hammer Family. Interment will follow the funeral service in the 
Mountain Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home. Active pallbearers 
will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Hillview 
Health Care Center. The family will receive friends at the funeral 
home from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, November 16. Friends may also call at 
the residence, 134 Lowridge Road, Johnson City, at any time. Online
