WASHINGTON COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Inez Murphy Hobbs, 28 Feb 2005

Inez Murphy Hobbs, 80, of Jonesborough, went to be with the Lord on Monday,
February 28, 2005, at her home.

Mrs. Hobbs was born in Scott County, Va., however, spent the last 67 years in
the Harmony community of Jonesborough. She was a member of Harmony Baptist
Church. She loved farming, cooking, gardening and working with her flowers.
She thought the world of her grandchildren and loved spending time with them.

Mrs. Hobbs was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Hobbs, January 3, 2004,
and her parents, John and Osta Murphy.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Dr. E. Dwight and Donna
Hobbs, Elizabethton; a grandson, William David Hobbs; a granddaughter, Damaris
Ann Hobbs; a sister, Beulah Jones, Kingsport; and two brothers: John W. Murphy
Jr., Kingsport, and Eugene Murphy, Plainwell, Mich. Several nieces and nephews
also survive.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 3, at Oak
Hill Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will be conducted in the
funeral home chapel at 8 p.m. Thursday with Rev. Steve Pate and Rev. Mike
Guinn officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday,
March 4, in the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, Va. Family and friends are
asked to meet at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Friday to go in procession to the
cemetery. Active pallbearers will be John Hughes, Joe Dean, Joe Robbins,
Lynnus Sherfey, David Jones and Jerry Murphy. Members of her Sunday School
Class at Harmony Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. Online
