ARTHUR RAY HUGHES

BAKERSVILLE – Arthur Ray Hughes, 63, of Jonesboro, TN, died Monday, October 
15, 2001 at his home. A native of Mitchell County, he was the son of the late 
Frank and Della Street Hughes. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, 
Okla Hughes and Venia Coleman; and brothers, Hoyt, Bill, Carl and Walter 
Hughes. He worked as a millwright.
Survivors include his wife, Mary McCall Hughes of Johnson City; daughters, 
Patricia Susan Lizotte of Jonesborough, and Sharon Stone of Johnson City; 
sons, Frank Hughes of Fort White, FL, and John Hughes of Johnson City; one 
sister, Margaret Shull of Bakersville; and three grandsons.
Graveside services were held. Rev. Bob McCurry officiated.  Burial was 11 a.m. 
Friday in Hughes Cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday 
in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville.
