MARY VIRGINIA CROWDER LEWIS 
 
ERWIN, TN - Mary Virginia Crowder Lewis, 91, died Sunday, Aug. 9, 2007 at The 
Life Care Center of Greeneville. A native of Washington County, Tenn., she was 
the daughter of the late Milton Orlando and Estella Crowell Crowder, and wife 
of the late Harry M. Lewis Sr. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, 
Terry Lewis; and a granddaughter, Megan Donaldson. She was a member of Hulen 
Baptist Church.

Survivors include four sons, John L. Lewis of Kingsport, Tenn., Kenneth R. 
Lewis of Greeneville, Tenn., James M. Lewis of Rogersville, Tenn., and Harry 
M. Lewis Jr. of Erwin; seven daughters, Bonnie J. Lewis of Spruce Pine, Gloria 
F. Lewis of Rogersville, Phyllis A. Boynton of Cleveland, Texas, Ruth I. 
Harris of Cleveland, Ga., Linda S. McNeill of High Point, Loretta F. Thompson 
of Jonesborough, Tenn., and Debra L. Tapp of Erwin; 18 grandchildren; and 21 
great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Valley Funeral Home in Erwin. 
The Revs. Ferrell Peterson and Niles Kitzmiller officiated. A graveside 
service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Evergreen Cemetery. The family 
received friends from 6 p.m. until the service hour Tuesday at the funeral 
home.
