Lady Jack B. Lady, 79, of Johnson City, died Monday, September 19, 2005, at his residence. A native of Washington County, he was born on November 13, 1925, to the late Emory David and Cora Lady. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Charlotte Sue McQueen Lady, July 10, 2005, and by three sisters and six brothers. Mr. Lady retired as the Superintendent of the Street Department for the City of Johnson City after 40 years of service. He enjoyed woodworking. He was a member of Harrison Christian Church where he served as a Deacon. Survivors include his two sons, Bobby Jack Lady Sr. and Gary Eugene Lady, both of Johnson City; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Earl and Betty Lady and Georgia Lady, all of Johnson City; and three grandchildren, Bobby Lady Jr., Deanna Lady and Gary Edward Lady. Several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Lady will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services with Mr. Robbie Phillips, minister, officiating and Mr. Paul Peer, minister, delivering the Eulogy. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel prior to the service. The committal service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 22, at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Everyone is asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:20 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Bobby Jack Lady Jr., Gary Edward Lady, Mike Lady, Elmer Rush, Ed Townsend, Robert Miller and Steve "Jay" Tyree. Honorary pallbearers will be the Elders and Deacons of Harrison Christian Church, Elders and Deacons of New Hope Church of Christ, Johnson City Public Works Department, Johnson City Fire Department, and Wal-Mart Distribution DC6039.
