WASHINGTON COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Carl A. Nickles Jr., 16 Jan 2005 ----¤¤¤---- Carl A. Nickles Jr., 75, 691 Cash Hollow Road, Johnson City, died Sunday, January 16, 2005, at his residence. Mr. Nickles was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and the son of the late Carl Allen Nickles Sr. and Ethel Mary Jackson Nickles. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters, one child, Elmer Nickles, and two grandchildren. Mr. Nickles was retired, having worked for 43 years for the city of Johnson City in the Water Department. He attended the Guiding Light Church, where he also was trustee. He was a member of Gospel Light Tabernacle. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Myrtle Nickles; three daughters, Carolyn Sutphin, Brenda Nickles and Lora Morgan; three sons, Roger Nickles, Orval Nickles and Isaac Nickles; a brother, Charles Nickles; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, all of Johnson City. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Mr. Nickles' body will be returned to the home at 691 Cash Hollow Road on Wednesday afternoon for receiving of friends and services in the home. The family and friends will go in procession from the home on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. for graveside services at Washington County Memory Gardens at 2 p.m. with Pastor David Nunley officiating.
