Patrick Donald N. Patrick, 91, of Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital after an extended illness. A native of Washington County, he was a son of the late Rev. D.C. and Lura Green Patrick. Mr. Patrick had lived most of his life in Carter County. He was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation after 33 years of service and was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of Sinking Creek Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters and a sister, Willie Andes. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Rose Humphrey Patrick; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Kenneth Miller, Elizabethton; a brother, Walter Patrick, Johnson City; a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Howard Grindstaff, Elizabethton; two grandsons, Dwayne Letterman and Shannon Lowe; four great-grandchildren; a step-son, William E. Lowe, Raleigh, N.C.; four step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and his special nieces and nephews and friends. He was loved by all who knew him. Funeral services for Mr. Patrick will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 17, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Reece Harris officiating. Music will be provided by Faye Campbell. Entombment services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, April 18, in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be nephews, friends and neighbors. Honorary pallbearers will be The John McAlester Sunday School Class and his church family. The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to everyone who has been a part of his life, for the prayers you have prayed for him, and a special "Thank You" to the staff of Sycamore Shoals Hospital and Dick and Glenda Oatman. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at his residence. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Friday to go to the cemetery. To those who prefer memorials may be made in memory of Mr. Patrick to the Sinking Creek Baptist Church, 2313 Elizabethton Highway, Johnson City, TN 37601.
