Range Rupert H. Range, 70, 163 Short Coal Chute Road, Elizabethton, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, January 19, 2008, at Johnson City Medical Center, following an extended illness. A native of Washington County, Tenn., he was a son of the late James Sexton and Lucy Edith Saunders Range. Mr. Range was a member of Valley Forge Christian Church and was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He worked as a security guard at Nuclear Fuels in Erwin until 2001 and had previously worked as a chemical operator for Monsanto Corporation in Pensacola, Fla., until his retirement in 1980. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served as Military Police. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Range. Survivors include his wife, Loretta Potter Range, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Chuck Foster, Erwin; a son, Mike Range, Elizabethton; four grandchildren, Megan Trivette, Johnson City, Charlie Foster, Telford, Carmen and Christen Range, Greeneville; a sister, Sandra K. Range, Elizabethton; and a special family friend, Jan Martin, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Mr. Range will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, January 21, in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home with Mr. David Siebenaler, minister, and Mr. H. Clay Bailey, minister, officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mr. Joel Crisp, soloist, and Mr. Edwin Taylor, pianist. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday, prior to the service, or at the residence at other times. The graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 22, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Jones, Greg Hatfield, Tom Beach, Gene Campbell, Wesley Campbell, Lester Lunceford, Mike McKinney, Ronnie G. Taylor, J.D. Stanley and Billy Stanley. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Valley Forge Christian Church, 114 Valley Forge Christian Church Road, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
