Rossiter Grace Pierce Rossiter, 78, Ivy Hall Nursing Home, formerly of Mayfield Drive, Elizabethton, died Tuesday, August 21, 2007, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. A native of Washington County, she was a daughter of the late Henry Joseph and Mamie Lula Nave Pierce. Mrs. Rossiter was a graduate of Science Hill High School and Steed Business College. She worked for several years with the Navy Department in Washington, D.C., and was a retired employee of the Raytheon Corporation of Bristol. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Elizabethton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald J. Rossiter, and two sisters, Novella Pierce Ferguson and Margaret Ellen Pierce. Survivors include two sisters and brothers-in-law, Desserree and Clifford Osborne of Johnson City and Henrietta and Paul May of Elizabethton; three nieces, Alicia A. May, Cassidy Blevins and Emily May; and two nephews, Joe May and Billy Ray Blevins. Funeral services for Mrs. Rossiter will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, August 23, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bob Polk officiating. Entombment services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, August 24, in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Friday, will be George Lowe, Lawrence Pierce, Harry Ford, Joe May, Dave Honeycutt and John Hardin. Honorary pallbearers will be her cousins. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of Henrietta and Paul May, 213 West H Street, Elizabethton. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Friday to go to the cemetery.
