WASHINGTON COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Paul R. Shatley, 19 Dec 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Paul R. Shatley, 87, Porter Avenue, Kingsport, died Friday, December 19, 2003, at Pine Oaks Assisted Living Center, Johnson City. Mr. Shatley was a native of Saltville, Va., a former resident of Elizabethton and Oak Ridge, and had lived in Washington County since 1981. He was a son of the late Jessie B. Shatley and Hattie H. Barborow and was also preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Shatley, and two sisters, Helen West and Margaret Lucas. Mr. Shatley was a former employee of Bemberg Corporation, Elizabethton, and a retired General Foreman with Union Carbide. He was a member of Boones Creek Christian Church, a KYCH Mason, and a 30-year member and Past Master of the Dashiell Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons. Survivors include his wife, Agnes B. Shatley, Kingsport; three daughters, Jessie L. Milhorn, Gray, Nancy Bealle, Hopkinsville, Ky., and Paula Williams, Moore, S.C.; and a brother, Estelle Shatley. Seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday, December 22, from the Morris-Baker South Chapel with Mr. David Clark officiating. Music will be under the direction of Scott Reynolds and Angie Slaughter. Committal services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 23, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday and travel in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jim Milhorn, Allen Williams, Chris Slaughter, Darryle Milhorn, Al Williams and Al Smith. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
