WASHINGTON COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Marie Street Thomas, 9 Jan 2005 ----¤¤¤---- Marie Street Thomas, 87, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, January 9, 2005, at Asbury Place, Johnson City. Mrs. Thomas was born in Roan Mountain, Tenn., and had lived most of her life in Johnson City. She was a 1937 graduate of Cloudland High School and also attended Johnson City Business College. She worked in the office of the Jackson Feed Store in Johnson City, as well as related business positions in Detroit, Mich., and with the War Department at Fort Bragg, N.C. Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her parents, William Harrison Street and Nellie Hughes Street; her husband, Walter Thomas; three brothers, Ed, George and Frank Street; and four sisters, Minnie Young, Della Street, Faye Carter and Etta Hughes. Survivors include a son, Andy Thomas, and a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Susan Thomas; two granddaughters, Taylor Thomas and Alicia Caito; two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Emme Caito; four nephews, Ronnie and Randy Hughes, Rev. Eddie Young and David Thomas; and three nieces, Sharon Davis, Carol Thompson and Janice Delph. A memorial service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 11, in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6 until 8 p.m. The committal service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 12, at the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are requested to meet at the cemetery by 9:50 a.m. Wednesday. Appalachian Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 800 E.
