WASHINGTON COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Joe E. Usary, 29 Apr 2004 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Joe E. Usary Joe E. Usary, 75, 1604 Willowbrook Drive, Johnson City, died Thursday, April 29, 2004, at Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Usary was a native of Carter County and had lived most of his life in the Johnson City area. He was a son of the late J. Ernest and Hattie Butler Usary. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Wayne Usary, Wilburn Usary and Kenneth Usary. Mr. Usary was the owner and operator of Joe's Restaurant in Unicoi and later was the owner and operator of Usary's Cafeteria in Johnson City. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Street Usary, Johnson City; a son, Shane Usary, Johnson City; and a brother, Searle Usary, Brea, Calif. One niece and several nephews also survive. The funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 2, in the South Chapel of Morris-Baker Funeral Home with the Rev. Hagan McClellan officiating. Special music will be provided by Sonny Younce, soloist. Entombment will follow in the Chapel Mausoleum of Monte Vista Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 1:30 until 3 p.m. Sunday. Active pallbearers will be selected from friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Clark, Robert "Red" Garland, Dr. Fawwaz Hamati, James Henline, John Hensley, Dr. Ahmad Khan, Fred Lockett, John G. Love, Claude McInturff, Dr. Chris Sholes, Fred Stout, Kale Street, Freeman Taylor, Jerry Vance, Rowland Verran, Arnold Wiseman, Jeff Wiseman, Dr. Brett Wyche and Sonny Younce.
