KATE B. WHITTIMORE

JONESBOROUGH, TN – Kate Bowman Whittimore, 83, of Midway community, died
Saturday, July 21, 2001, in Asbury Center Johnson City after an extended
illness. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Gertie Garst Bowman, and
wife of the late Ernest Whittimore. A homemaker, she was a volunteer at the
Veterans Administration in Mountain Home, TN. Survivors include two sons, R.
Wayne Whittimore of Johnson City, TN, and Carl L. Whittimore of Chattanooga,
TN; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Funeral services were
held at 8 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Morris-Baker Funeral Home. Rev. Elbert
Charpie officiated. Burial was at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Veterans
Administration Cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at
the funeral home. Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville was in charge of
arrangements.
