WASHINGTON COUNTY, TN - VITALS - Marriage Bond, John Cox to Ruth 
Gray, 20 Aug 1817

State of Tennessee, Washington County,
Know all men by these presents, That we John Gray and Our heirs and 
administrators, are jointly and severally bound unto Joseph M'Minn, Esq., 
Governor of the State of Tennessee for the time being and to his successors, 
in the sum of Twelve Hundred and Fifty Dollars, to be void on condition that 
there is no lawful cause to obstruct the marriage of the said John Cox to Ruth 
Gray of said County, or to pay all costs and damages that may be recovered in 
consequence of such Marriage being illegal given under these hands and seals 
this 20th day of August 1817.
