This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Martha Thayer MARTTHAYER@aol.com ==================================================================== James Hollis Letters Testamentary State of Tennessee Wayne County Court January session 1850 Whereas it appears to the court here that Thomas GIST is dead and having made no last will and testament and application being made by James Hollis to have letters of administration granted to him upon all and singular the goods and chattels, rights and credits of the said deceased and he having given Bond and Security as is by law in such cases required where upon the Court ordered that he have Letters accordingly Those are therefore to authorize you the said James Hollis to enter into and upon all and singular the good & Chattels rights and credits of the said Thomas Gist deceased and the same in your possession take when and where to be found in this state and a true and perfect Inventory thereof take and return into our ensuing County Court an Oath and all of the Just Debts of the intestate pay so far as the said estate will amount or contend and the residue thereof deliver to those who have a right there to by Law here in fail not. Hollis comes into open Court and made application to the Court for Letters of Administration to Issue to them upon the Estate of JOHN HOLLIS deceased and it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that the said John Hollis is dead and having left no last will and testament the application was granted accordingly. These are therefore to authorize and empower you the said Wm. Hollis and Francis M. Hollis to enter in and upon all and singular the goods and chattels rights and credits of the Estate of the said John Hollis deceased, whensoever to be found in the State of Tennessee and the same to take into your possession that you make and return upon oath to our next succeeding County Court a true and perfect Inventory of same that you pay all of the Just debts of the said Estate and the remainder if any pay over to those who may be entitled to the same by law This 5th day of October 1837 Witness Wm. Thorn State of Tennessee Wayne County October Term of County Court 1857 This day Penny Thorn came into open court and made application to the court for Letters of Administration to Issue to her upon the Estate of WM. THORN deceased and it appearing to the satisfaction of the court that the said Wm. Thorn is dead and having left no last will and testament the application was granted accordingly These a therefore to authorize and empower you the said Penny Thorn to enter in and upon all and singular the goods and chattels to be found in the State of Tennessee and the same to take into your possession that you make and return upon oath to our next succeeding County Court a true and perfect Inventory of the same that you pay all the just debts of the said Estate and the surrender if any pay one to those who may be entitled to the same by law This 5th day of October 1837 Witness Wm. L BRUMLEY to enter into and open all and singular the good and chattels rights and credits of the same John BRUMLEY deceased and the same into your possession take when and where to be found int his State and a true and perfect Inventory thereof take and return into our ensuring County Court an Oath and all the just debts of the intestate pay so far as the said state will amount or extend and the residue whereof deliver to those who have a right thereto by law Here in fail not. Session 1850 Whereas it appears to the Court here that Benjamin BROADAWAY of the State of Alabama is dead and application being made by Alfred REED to have letters of Administration granted to him upon all and singular the goods and chattels rights and credits of the said deceased and he having given bond and security as is by law in such cases required Where ____ the Court ordered that he have letters accordingly. These are therefore to authorize you the said Alfred REED to enter into and open all and singular the good and chattels rights and credits of said Benjamin BROADAWAY deceased and the same into your possession take when and whereto be found in this State and a true exact Inventory thereof take and return into our ensuing County Court on Oath And all the just debts of the testate pay so for as the said estate will amount __ extend and the residue there of deliver to those entitled thereto by law here in fail not.
