Dear Mrs. Cheshire:

Reference is made to your letter of 2 March 1950, herewith returned.

The records show that Samuel H. Dickey, name not found as Samuel Houston 

Dickey, a private of Company F, 9th Battalion (Gantt’s) Tennessee Cavalry, 

Confederate States Army, enlisted in Wayne County, Tennessee, 30 November 

1861.  The company muster roll for 16 March 1864, shows that he died at Fort 

Donelson, 28 February 1862.  His age is shown as [blot] years.
