Anderson Gwinn Copeland a native of Sparta, WHITE CO., TN who moved to Danville, was a physician until 1872 and after that a member of the North AL Conference till his death 20 November 1895 in Jefferson County; grandson of James Wilson Copeland of Danville, whose grandfather JAMES WILSON was one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence and of David Johnson of Russellville.
