HIGDEN For and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars cash in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged. I JOHN RIDLEY have bargained and sold (on)by these presence do transfer and convey unto LORENZO HIGDEN his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land in the 12 civil Dist. of White County, State of Tenn. Bounded of follows to wit. Beginning on a rock in R. HILLS North boundary line with pointers, thence west with said line 66 poles to a rock with pointers, thence running in a North western direction following the meanders of a small branch to a line known as the old Glenn line cornering in the Branch with pointers. Thence East with said line — poles to Wm DAVIS North western corner, Thence south with Davises line 66 poles to the beginning. Containing 35 acres more of less conveying and transferring also the reserved right of way as expressed in JOHN RIDLEY and wife CELY A. RIDLEY deed to LORENZO HIGDON and his bodily heirs. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with the (appurtenances), estate title and interest thereto belonging to the said LORENZO HIGDON, his heirs and assigns, we JOHN RIDLEY and wife CELY A RIDLEY do covenant with the said LORENZO HIGDEN that we are lawfully seized and possessed of said land in fee simple have a good right to convey it and the same is unincumbered and we JOHN RIDLEY and CEALY A RIDLEY do further covenant and bind ourselves and our heirs and representatives to warrant and forever defend the title to the said land to the said LORENZO HIGDEN, his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever.
