He was born Jan. 12, 1758, in Lunenberg County, Va. He enlisted while residing in Halifax County, Va., in 1776 serving in Capt. James Cobb's company. During the Revolution his father's family moved to Guilford County, N. C., and Abner Morris enlisted in Capt. John McAdoo's company, Col. Pacely's regiment in North Carolina troops.
