WHITE COUNTY, TN - OBITUARY - William G. Copeland - Jan. 4, 1894 ----¤¤¤---- Death of William G. Copeland >From the "Alabama Christian Advocate," Jan. 4, 1894. Gathering Home Fifty-eight years ago, near Sparta, Tenn., my mother died and left a husband, six daughters and three sons. When she was far out on the chilly waters, she said to one of her daughters, I will soon be in heaven and God will bring my family on home after awhile. One by one they have been gathering on the other shore, and last Thursday night another one crossed over in the life boat and joined the majority. William G. Copeland, the humble, the good, the upright, and one universally esteemed by all who knew him, and loved tenderly by all children who ever met him, fell asleep. He was my only living brother - all the family gone on. He was 60 years old last February. He left a wife to mourn him. "Aunt Sallie" knows where to find uncle "Billie." All my large family, mother, father, six sisters and two brothers are in heaven. Next roll called I will answer gladly. A. G.
