(* Certain measures appear as "11" in this document but "6" in the related document where Reuben Wells sells the property to Littleberry Pate; I have transcribed the measures as "6" in both documents.) Williamson Co, TN, Deed Book O, pp 403-404 p 403 Registered 23rd November 1838. This Indenture made and entered into the twenty fifth day of December eighteen hundred and thirty five between Willis Baucom of the county of Williamson and State of Tennessee of the one part, and Reuben Wells of the county and State aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth, that the said Baucom for and in consideration of the sum of six hundred dollars to him in hand well and truly paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained and by these presents doth grant, bargain and sell unto the said Reuben Wells his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land situate, lying and being in the county and State aforesaid, on the waters of Flat Creek and joining land with Thomas Wilson on the South and East and North and Isaac Smith on the West, Beginning and cornering[?] on a hickory marked as a corner to said Baucom, thence with the meanders of the ridge North 14d, East 12 poles North 30d East 538 poles, North 70d East 12 poles, North 62d[*] East 26 p! oles[*] North 65d[*] East 60, poles, North 78d East 12 poles, North 62d[*] East 52 poles, to a sugar tree the South East corner of the survey, thence North 772[or 7 1/2] d, West 109 poles to a white oak the North East corner of the survey, thence West 189 poles to a sugar tree North West corner of the.... thence South 61[*] poles to a ___ oak, thence West 20 poles to a stake Isaac Smith's North East corner, thence South 18 1/2 d East 86[*] poles to a sugar tree, thence South 22d East 84 1/2 poles to the Beginning-- To have and to hold all and singular the rights, profits, emoluments, hereditaments and appurtences of, in and to the same belonging or in any wise incident[?] or appertaining, to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Wells, his heirs and assigns forever; and the said Baucom for himself his heirs and assigns doth covenant and agree to and with the said Wells his heirs and assigns, that the before recited land and bargained premises, containing 193 acres 18 poles more or less, he will warrant and forever defend the right, title, intrust[interest?] or claim of any person or persons claiming the same or any part thereof-- In witness whereof the said Willis Baucom hath hereunto set his hand and fixt his seal the day and year above written, Willis Bauceno [seal] Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of us, Test.
