All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Dan Sharp ********************************************************************************************************** Wilson County, Tennessee Deed Book Q, pp. 276-277 This Indenture made this third day of September AD 1835 Eighteen hundred & thirty five between Dawson Hancock, Martin Hancock, Hannah Hancock, Nathan Sparkes, Nancy Sparkes, John Skean, Eady Skean, William Sharpe, Milley Edwards of the County of Wilson and State of Tennesssee of the one part and Hope Hancock and Samuel Hancock of the County and State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that we do Quit all right, title, claim and interest for ourselves or heirs, executors and assigns forever to Hope Hancock and Samuel Hancock a certain tract of land formally belonging to Martin Hancock dc'd, tract or parcel of land containing one hundred and sixty acres and lying in the County of Wilson and State of Tennessee on the waters of Barton's Creek. Beginning at Sugar tree and Iron wood on Carter's line formerly Chappell's line thence North one hundred and sixty poles to a Stake and a ash Fordes line formerly Clifton's line thence one hundred and sixty poles West thence South one hundred and Sixty poles to a Stake thence East to the beginning containing one hundred and sixty acres more or less to have and to hold the above described land and all and singler(sic) the apertainances(sic) thereunto Belonging to the said Hope Hancock and Samuel Hancock our heirs and asignes(sic) forever in witness where of we have set our hands and seales(sic). Covington and John Billingsly(sic) subscribing witnesses to the within deed who being Sworn depose and say they are a Quainted(sic) with Dawson Hancock, Hannah Hancock, Nathan Sparkes, John Skean, Martin Hancock, William Sharpe and Milley Edwards apart of the within barganors(sic) and that they Acknolledged(sic) the same at different times since the date of the deed in there(sic) presence to be there(sic) act and deede(sic) and there upon personley(sic) apeard(sic) before me Eady Skean and Nancy Sparkes (the from Courts?) privateley(sic) and apart from there(sic) Husbands the said John Skean and Nathan Sparkes and Acknolledged(sic) the execution of said deede(sic) to have ben(sic) done by them freeley(sic) voluntrley(sic) and understanding by with any compulcion(sic) or restraint from there(sic) said husbands and for the purposes there in Expressed.
