All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/tn/tnfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Mary Beth Marchant mbmjlm22@aol.com June 18, 2007, 1:23 pm Written: August 24, 1814 Recorded: December 2, 1814 Land transaction between Hugh Telford, William Telford, James Sinclair, Thomas Telford and Robert Telford 1814 in Wilson County, Tennessee This indenture made this twenty fourth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand and eight hundred fourteen by & between Hugh Telford, William Telford, & James Sinclair all of the County of Wilson and State of Tennessee of the one part and Thomas Telford, Robert Telford of the County & State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of Three hundred dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby hath bargained sold alien enfeoffed & confirmed & by these presents doth bargain grant sell alien enfeoff & confirm unto the said Thomas & Robert a certain parcel of land situate lying & being in the County aforesaid and bounded as followeth. Beginning at a stake one hundred & sixty poles East of Stephen Brooks original. Beginning thence East one hundred & sixty poles to a Stake, William Rice’s Southwest corner, thence North with said Rice’s line one hundred eighty poles to the center of the creek thence down the creek fifty-five poles to an Oak. Thence North with Hugh Gwynn’s twenty six poles to a Honey Locust. Hugh Gwynn’s corner thence West with said Gwynn’s line seventeen and a half poles to a Hickory said Gwynn’s corner thence North with said Gwynn’s line two hundred and twenty four poles to an Elm on Stephen Brooks North boundary line thence West with said Brooks one hundred and a half poles to a Stake the corner of the division line between said Brooks and the above said Hugh, William & James. Thence South with said line three hundred & twenty poles to the beginning by estimation two hundred and thirty five acres be it the same more or less, being part of a tract of three hundred and twenty acres conveyed to the above said Hugh Telford, William and James by Martin Brooks attorney in fact by Stephen Brooks heirs to have and to hold the within bargained premises and to the said Thomas & Robert their heirs and assigns forever and the said Hugh, William & James for themselves their heirs Executors & administrators do covenant and agree and with the said Thomas & Robert their heirs & assigns to quit claim & forever relinquish all their right, title and interest and property to and in the within bargained premises and to the said Thomas & Robert, their heirs and assigns forever, likewise the said Hugh & William for ourselves and heirs executors and administrators do quit claim & forever relinquish all our right, title interest and property to and eighty three acres conveyed to Hugh Gwynn’s by the above said James Sinclair it being part of the convey and made to the said Hugh, William and James by the said Martin Brooks the corner and lines bounding said eighty three acres to remain as is described in said Gwynn deed of conveyance made by said James Sinclair on the ninth day of December in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eight. Likewise we the said Hugh and William for ourselves and heirs executors and administrators quit claim and forever relinquish all our right title and interest and property in and to two acres reserved by James Sinclair being part of the said purchase bounded as followeth Beginning on the North bank of the creek on William Rice’s West boundary line, thence North with said line forty poles thence West eighty poles, thence South forty poles to the creek. In Testimony of which agreement we the said Hugh Telford, William Telford and James Sinclair have hereunto set our hands and affixed our seals this day & date written above. Thereto and ordered to be registered.
