All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/tn/tnfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Janet King JPerdue192@aol.com February 12, 2009, 8:17 pm Written: August 30, 1830 Recorded: June 2, 1848 This Indenture made this thirtyith of August in the year of Our Lord one thousand Eight hundred & thirty between Deborough, Isabella & George Whitson heirs of Abraham Whitson decd and of the county of Wilson & State of Tennessee of the one part and John Whitson one of the said heirs of the county and State aforesaid of the other part & witnesseth that the said Deborough, Isabella & George Whitson doth hereby & by these presents relinquish all the right title interest & claims that we have in & to a certain tract or parcel of land that belonged to the estate of Abram Whitson decd as heirs of said Estate to the said John Whitson as heirs of this estate his part of the land that belonged to said Estate which tract or parcel of land is bounded as follows (viz) Beginning at a spanish oak the north East corner of William Mays land, thence East with Spencers line fifty three poles to a Stake thence South one hundred & forty eight poles to a stake thence west fifteen poles to two dogwoods Thence South five poles to (??) E line thence West thirty eight poles to a poplar thence north one hundred & fifty three poles to the beginning & containing by estimation Fifty Acres be the same more or less. To have & to hold the before said tract or parcel of land to him the said John Whitson his heirs executors & assigns forever with all & singular the priviledge & appertaines thereunto belonging & We Deborah, Isabella & George Whitson for ourshelves our heirs excutors and assigns doth warrant & forever defend the title of said tract or parcel of land to him the said John Whitson his heirs executors & assigns forever In testimony whereof we have agreed to set our hand & seal the year & day above written Sealed signed & delivered in possesion of Willis Wray Deborough (hisXmark) Whitson (seal) William Eagam Isabella (hisXmark) Whitson (seal) Isaac Wright George Whitson (seal) State of Tennessee Williamson County Personally appeared before me Lemuel B. McCoraico clerk of county court of Williamson county Willis Wray a subsciring witness to the within named deed who being first sworn deposed & say that he is acquinted with Deborough Whitson, Isabella Whitson & George Whitson the bargainers & that they acknowledged the same in his presence to be their act & deed upon the day it bears date. Witness my hand at office this 23 day of August 1847 Lemuel B. McCoraico. State of Tennessee Wilson County Personally appeared before me Josiah A. McClasic clerk of the county court of this county of Wilson Isaac Wright one of the subscribing witnesses to the written deed who being sworn deposed & say he is acquainted with Deborough Whitson & Isabella Whitson & George Whitson the within named bargainers & that they acknowledged the same to be the act & deed in their presence upon the day it bears date. Vick Register of Wilson County Additional Comments: John, George, Deborah and Isabella Whitson where children of Abraham and Lydia (maiden?name) Whitson. Abraham came to Wilson County ca 1800 from Washington County, TN. His land lay on Spencer's Creek off the Cumberland River and now is part of Boxwell Boy Scout Camp. Abraham died in Wilson Co., TN in 1820. His heirs were taxed for 150 acres of land in 1830.
