Sampson Smith deed to Paskel H. Bottoms for 53 acres.



This Indenture made this tenth day of March in the year of our Lord one 

thousand eight hundred and thirty five by & between Sampson Smith of the 

County of Wilson and State of Tennessee of the one part & Paskel H. 

Bottoms of the County and State aforesaid & of the other part witnesseth 

that for an in consideration of three hundred and four dollars & 75 cents 

to him the said Smith in hand paid the receipt is hereby acknowledged do 

bargain, sell & deliver & do by these presents bargain, sell & deliver to 

the said Paskel H. Bottoms a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying 

and being in the County and State aforesaid on the waters of Fall Creek & 

bounded as follows to wit, Beginning at a buckeye Quarter North West 

corner & North East corner to Charles Puckett running thence East eighty 

three poles to a large beach thence North one hundred and two poles to a 

beach thence West eighty three poles to a beach thence South one hundred 

and two poles to the Beginning containing fifty three acres to have and to 

hold to him the said Paskel H. Bottoms, his heirs and assigns forever and 

I the said Sampson Smith do for myself, my heirs, executors and 

administrators do warrant and forever defend the before recited land & 

premises to him the said Bottoms, his heirs and assigns forever against 

the claim of all person or persons whatsoever. In testimony, I hereunto 

set my hand and affix my seal this day and state above written.

Wilson County		)	Personally appeared before me Josiah S. 

McClain, Clerk of the County Court of said Wilson County, S. W. Permabaker 

and Robert Lemmings subscribing witnessed to the within deed who being 

sworn depose and day they are acquainted with Sampson Smith, the witness 

Named bargainer and that he acknowledged the same in their presence to be 

his act and deed upon this day it bears.
