Paschal H. Bottoms to Tillman Ethridge



This Indenture made this tenth day of August in the year of our Lord one 

thousand eight hundred and thirty six by and between Paschal H. Bottoms of 

the County of Wilson and State of Tennessee of the one part & Tillman 

Ethridge of the County and State aforesaid and of the other part 

witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of twenty five dollars 

to him the said Bottoms in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby 

acknowledged do bargain, sell & deliver and do by these presence bargain, 

sell and deliver to the said Tillman Ethridge a certain tract or parcel of 

land situate, lying and being in the County and State aforesaid on the 

waters of Fall Creek, and bounded as follows (to wit) Beginning on a white 

ash standing on the south side of a branch said Bottoms’ corner running 

thence nine degrees west thirty six poles in Washington Williams South 

Boundary line to a beach, thence south seventy five degrees west fifty 

four poles to a stake in the fork of the creek, thence a direct course to 

the beginning containing six acres to have and to hold to him the said 

Ethridge, his heirs & assigns forever & I the said Paschal H. Bottoms do 

for myself, my heirs, executors & administrators do warrant and forever 

defend the before recited land and premises to him the said Ethridge, his 

heirs and assigns forever against the claims of all persons whatever. In 

testimony whereof, I hereunto set my hand and affix my seal this day and 

date above written signed, sealed and delivered in the presence of

McClain, Clerk of the County Court of said Wilson County, the within named 

Paschal H. Bottoms with whom I am personally acquainted & who acknowledged 

that he executed the within deed for the purposes therein contained 

witness my hand at office this 29th day of September, 1836.
