William H. Smith deed to Paskal H. Bottoms



This Indenture made this nineteenth day of March in the year of our Lord 

one thousand eight hundred and thirty five by and between William H. Smith 

of the County of Wilson & State of Tennessee of the one part & Paskal H. 

Bottoms of the County & State afforesaid and of the other part witnesseth 

that for an in consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars to him the 

said Smith in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged do 

bargain, sell & deliver and do by these presents bargain, sell & deliver 

to the said Paskal H. Bottoms a certain tract or parcel of land lying and 

being in the County & State afforesaid on the waters of Fall Creek, and 

bounded as follows (to wit) beginning on a buckeye Charles Puckett north 

east corner running thence north one hundred fourteen poles to a small 

beach, thence South sixty seven degrees west one hundred & fourteen poles 

to the creek, thence South sixty seven degrees east fifty poles to an ash, 

thence South sixty two poles to a hickory on said Pucketts North boundary 

line thence east with said line sixty eight poles to the beginning. 

Containing by calculation forty seven acres to have and to hold to him the 

said Bottoms, his heirs & assigns forever & I the said William H. Smith do 

for myself, my heirs, executors & administrators do warrant and forever 

defend the before recited land and premises to him the said Bottoms, his 

heirs and assigns forever against the claims of all person or persons 

whatsoever. In testimony, I hereunto set my hand & affix my seal this day 

and date above written. Signed, sealed and delivered in presence of

Wilson County		)	Personally appeared before me Josiah S. 

McClain, Clerk of the County Court of said Wilson County, William H. Smith 

the within named bargainer with whom I am personally acquainted and 

acknowledged that he executed the written deed for purposes therein 

expressed.
