Witnesseth that the said Barnabas Eagan for and in consideration of the sum of six hundred and seventy five dollars to him in hand paid before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained sold delivered ... and confirmed and by these presents do bargain deliver ... and confirm unto the said Jacob Mayo his heirs executors & administrators a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the county aforesaid on the waters of Spencers creek containing one hundred and three acres one hundred and thirty five poles titled and bounded as follows, (to wit) Beginning at a poplar & dogwood north east corner of Elijah Robertsons six hundred and four acre tract of which this is part, running thence north eighty five degrees west sixty eight poles to an elm, thence south six hundred and thirty five poles to a hickory thence east seventy five poles to a white oak in the east boundary line of said original tract thence west on said line north one and a half degrees west five hundred and twenty nine poles to the beginning together with all and singular the interest in and appurtenances to the said land belonging or in any wise appertaining to have and to hold the said land and premises unto the sd Jacob Mayo and his heirs forever and the said Barnabas Eagan for himself and his heirs doth well and truly warrant and defend the said land and premises unto the said Jacob Mayo his heirs against any lawful claim of any person or persons whatsoever. In testimony whereof the said Barnabas Eagan hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and date above written. Williams, Jurat, Charles White, Jurat December Term 1816 The within deed of bargain & sale from Barnabas Eagan to Jacob Mayo for 103 and 135 acres of land was exhibited in open Court and proved by the oaths Jas T.
