Persons or organizations desiring to use this material, must obtain the written consent of the contributor, or the legal representative of the submitter, and contact the listed USGenWeb archivist with proof of this consent. ************************************************************************ Wilson County, Tennessee Deed Book L, p. 216 This Indenture made this twenty fifth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred twenty three between the legatees of Barnaba Eagan deceased to wit James Eagan, Hugh Eagan, Barnaba Eagan, John Eagan, Samuel Motherall guardian for the heirs of Wm Eagan deceased, Thomas Dillon & Margaret Dillon his wife, Lydia Green, Rachel Tipton, Henry Howell & Polly Howell his wife all of the State of Tennessee & counties of Wilson & Cocke of the one part and Jesse Eagan of the County of Wilson & State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth we the said legatees of the said Barnaba Eagan Dec'd for & in consideration of the sum of three hundred and ninety dollars to the said legatees of the said Barnaba Eagan deceased in hand paid by the said Jesse Eagan before the sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have bargained and sold and by these presents do bargain and sell and convey and confirm unto the said Jesse Eagan his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land containing sixty five acres lying and being in the county of Wilson and state aforesaid on the waters of Spencer Creek beginning as follows viz: at a Hickory and Elm running thence east one hundred and sixty poles to a stake at John Eagans north west corner on Isaac Smiths south boundary thence south sixty five poles to a small ash on the bank of the spring branch thence west one hundred sixty poles to a white oak and Ironwood thence north sixty five poles to he beginning containing sixty five acres by the same more or less to have and to hold the above granted premises with the appurtenances thereunto belonging with all and singular the profits and emoluments thereunto and therefrom to arise unto the said Jesse Eagan his heirs and assigns to his only use forever and the said legatees of the said Barnaba Eagan deceased for themselves and their heirs executors and administrators do hereby warrant grant and agree to and with the said Jesse Eagan his heirs and assigns the said land with all and singular the premises and appurtenances before mentioned unto the said Jesse Eagan his heirs and assigns free from the claim of ourselves our heirs and all other person or persons claiming under us whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents in witness whereof we the said legatees of the said Barnaba Eagan deceased have hereunto set our hands and affixed our seals the day and year above written.
