MOODY, deceased She lives near Statesville, Wilson Co., Tennessee Lived in Tenn. her whole life except two years in Missouri Born: near Statesville in 1839 Maiden name: Lucy JONES Married Samuel Thomas MOODY near Statesville 24 Aug. 1865 by J. F. THOMPSON. Enlisted at Parris, west Tennessee Co., F, 154 Tenn. Vol. Served until Battle of Murfreesboro where he was badly wounded. Thinks his unit surrendered in NC be he was in the hospital. Came home after the war on cruthces. Husband was not a pensioner. Died about 15 years ago at Medical Colledge. Had his leg taken off upon acount of his wound. Had three children by her husband, Jonnie age 40, Thomas age 37, and an infant girl Eliza who died over 30 years ago. Has no property but what is in the house. He left a house & lot in Statesville a grass lot. Sold it and invested in a piece of land that is under mortgage. Has no family. "I am Living with my People." Her husband was his brother. Married August 1865 by J. F. THOMPSON.] Samuel T. MOODY was born in Wilson Co., in 1831. Enlisted spring of 1861 Co., F, 154 Tenn. Vol. Enlisted at the same time with him and served with him until he was disabled. Samuel T. MOODY was wounded at Murfreesboro and was ever on crutches. He died in Nashville at Medical Colledge Hospital about 15 years ago. Lived near Statesville, TN all his life except about 1 year before the war and went west a short time after the war. Saw them married and have lived a neighbor most of the time since. The widow had only a little piece of land under mortgage and could not live if it was not for the help of friends.
