MOODY; native of TN, resident of Greenvale, Wilson County Service Co. F, 154th Regiment TN Vol. Born: Henry Co., TN 2 Mar. 1836 Elisted: 1 May 1861 Ed FITZGERALD Capt., Charles COONY 1st Lieut.; J. M. OZANE 2nd Lieut; Organized at Columbus, KY Wounded, 20 July 1864 Peach Tree near Atlanta, GA, contusion when ball struck his pocket knife. Wounded again two days later in the right ankle causing permanent disability. Paroled while in hospital at Marion, AL in May 1865. Was in hospital at close of war. In hospitals in GA, SC and AL. Surgeon: Dr. BOSTICK, our regimental surgeon. Answer to "Did you take the oath of allegiance to the United States Government?": "I did not thank God." Married, with wife and 6 children; Wife age 30; children from 1 to 17, 5 boys and 1 girl. Children are not able to support him, he has to support them. Usual business: farming Assessment is about $1000 and tax receipt is $14.18. Wife has no estate in her own right. Does not use intoxicants to any extant. Lived in TN all his life.
