The business was first started by Mr. Barnes and George A Wright, under the firm name of Barnes & Wright. Two years ago, however, Mr. Wright's interest was purchased by Mr. Barnes, and the stock was removed into the splendid brick building in West Palestine, which it now occupied from the public square, where the business was first located. The building has been lately extended across the square that it now fronts on both Main and Spring streets. The tin shop has been taken out of the principal building, and now occupies the building lately owned by J. Crawford, on the north side of Spring street. Mr. Barnes is a practical workman, as well as a competent business manager, and conducts his business with such foresight and understanding as to insure for himself success and for his patrons the best of wares or work at equitable prices.
