Palestine, Texas

Dear Miss Kate ("Miss" spelled Mif both places)

I will try and comply with your request. I was a member of Company G. Of the
1st Texas Inf.-Hood's Brigade Army of N. Virginia. We enlisted at Palestine,
Texas in May 1861. Went to Richmond, Va., and was there organized into
Regts. with the following Company officers:
