County Court Records Regarding Pensions for Indigent Soldiers and Widows While browsing through Book 15 of the County Clerk's Commissioners Court Minutes, I found the following information. The Index for these Minutes is upstairs in the Anderson Co. Clerk's Office, while the books themselves are on a wall downstairs, and to the left of the stairway. Book 15, p. 270, August 16, 1899: "Application for Pensions" to Commissioners' Court"-for a pension as surviving disabled indigent Confederate soldiers and indigent widows of such soldiers…each are entitled to from the State under Act approved May 12, 1899… Soldiers C.F.
