Reagan, died last week, and the funeral occurred Thursday. "Aunt" Mary was a native of Tennessee, and came to Texas during the Civil War with the family of her master, Dr. Dechard. She had many friends among the white people throughout the State, who visited at Fort Houston, the Reagan home, and who will be sorry to hear of her death. At the request of Mrs. Molly Mobley, Superintendent Walker King of the public schools dismissed the colored school near her house, and the pupils attended the funeral in a body.
