Morehouse Clarion 
September 10, 1880 -- Page 2, Column 4
Roland Rucker, who was to have hanged in Palestine, Texas, on August 27th, cheated
the gallows by 
committing suicide.  With a little pen-knife he severed the arteries of his wrist
and bled to death. He 
was convicted of the murder of Dr. Grayson and his wife in July 1878.
