Had Passed the Century Mark

PALESTINE, Texas, March 28. - "Uncle" Edmond Turner, 
colored, died near the Village of Tennessee Colony, this 
county, yesterday, aged 104 years. In his youth Edmond was 
the carriage driver of the grandfather of Mrs. Jemison, wife 
of Col. E. S. Jemison, banker of New York, but formerly of 
this county, where he owned a large plantation before the 
war.
