E. COPELAND February 3, 1936 Funeral rites were held Sunday afternoon for James E. COPELAND, 55, local jeweler for IGN watch inspector and beloved resident of Palestine for 35 years, who died suddenly from a heart attack Saturday in a Crockett hospital. Brief services were held at 3:45 p.m. from the home, 201 East Kolstad Street, with final services following at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.... Burial was in East Hill Cemetery. Hundreds of Friends paid respects to the memory of one of the Southwest's best known business men. Truck loads of floral offerings banked the grave. Mr. Copeland came to Palestine from Marshall, where his father was in the Jewelry business. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. James Lee Billberry of Barstow and Mrs. Francis Donahue of Corsicana; Three (SIC) daughters, Mrs. Charles Cobb and Mrs Fred Wilson of Marshall and Mrs Alex McAllister of Houston.
