W. D. MOREHEAD February 24, 1936 Mrs. W. D. MOREHEAD, who would have been 82 years old on March 5, died at 8:30 a.m. Monday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Marshall Lively, at Slocum, of pneumonia after 3 weeks illness. Funeral service will be held at 10 a. m Tuesday at Guiceland Cemetery, two miles East of Elkhart... Survivors are seven sons, J. H. Morehead of Bryan, W. H. Morehead of Crockett, D. J. Morehead of chambers Community, B. W. Morehead of Salmon, A. B. Morehead of Slocum; Three daughters, Mrs. D. E. Leatherwood of Salmon, Mrs. W. D. Lemons of Grapeland and Mrs. Marshall Lively of Slocum..... Mrs. Marshall was born March 5, 1854 in Mississippi. In 1872 she was married at Jackson, Miss. to W. D. Morehead. They came to Texas about 45 years ago, first settling in Bryan, but removing to Anderson County 40 years ago, Mrs. Marshall had resided in the Elkhart Community since coming to this county. Her husband died in 1913 and was buried in Guiceland Cemetery... ***
