SMITH, 82 of Cedar Hill, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Hassell & Foster Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. R. A. Stacey officiating. Burial will be in Guiceland Cemetery at Salmon. Mrs. Smith died at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Chester Hospital, Dallas, after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Smith was born 5 Feb 1899 in Axtell, daughter of Henry E. Blanchard and Emma Elizabeth Conn Blanchard. She was a member of the Westmoreland Heights Baptist Church, Dallas. Her husband, Luther O. Smith, died 9 June 1966 , and two of her children, Mrs. Reba Blackwell and R. C. Smith also preceded her. Survivors include ten children: Alfred Smith of Cedar Hill, Travis Smith of Houston, Luther Smith of Hutchins, Delma Smith of Conroe, Donald Smith of Dallas, Emma Emmons of Portland Ore. and Della Ivy, Edna Sharp, Henrietta Richbourg and Ineta Self, all of Dallas; Two brothers, John W. Sanches of Athens and Barney Blanchard of Mexia; Three sisters, Mrs. Martha Lee Salyer of Ashlin Ore. Mrs. Della Calloway of Houston and Mrs. Beatrice Keaton of Fairfield, 40 grandchildren, 74 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
