H. Sanford Obituary Funeral services for E H Sanford, 93, of Diboll will be held Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Rick Clark officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Springs Cemetery in Corrigan. Mr. Sanford was born August 8, 1924, in Helmic, Texas in Trinity County to the late Alma (Butler) and Elijah Herman Sanford and died Saturday, December 9, 2017, in Diboll, Texas. Mr. Sanford resided in Angelina County most of his life. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a log cutter for various logging companies. He loved to sit on the front porch and spend time with his family and will be remembered for his great sense of humor. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He liked to watch the Diboll High School football team and the Dallas Cowboys. Mr. Sanford was of the Pentecostal faith. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Merline Sanford of Diboll; daughters, Becky Bell and husband Danny of Huntington, Linda Lankford and husband Jeff of Pollok, and Sheila Whitaker and husband Allen of Nacogdoches; grandchildren, Ashley Boyett and husband Matt of Nacogdoches, Dennis Bell and wife Britney of Huntington, Tim Bell and wife Linda of Huntington, Misty Spencer and husband Nick, Angela Gandy and husband Maxx, and Kailey Lankford, all of Pollok, Austin Whitaker and Jay Whitaker, both of Nacogdoches; great-grandchildren, Clint Boyett, Nathan Boyett, and Nicole Boyett, all of Nacogdoches, Drew Bell, Cade Bell, Presleigh Bell, and Peyten Bell, all of Huntington, Jace Spencer, Luke Spencer, Charleigh Spencer, Brexx Gandy and Reed Gandy, all of Pollok; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Daniel E. Sanford; and sister, Serena Mae Huff. Pallbearers will be Danny Bell, Jeff Lankford, Allen Whitaker, Dennis Bell, Tim Bell, Austin Whitaker, and Jay Whitaker. Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Boyett, Nick Spencer, and Maxx Gandy. Memorial contributions may be made to Affinity Hospice, 2708 S. Medford Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75901. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
