Be it known that i the undersigned Clerk of the County Court of said County by nature of the power vested in me by law, Do bereby License any person legally authorized, to Join in the bonds of Matrimony David Yar- brough and Rebecca Jones both of said County and of the age prescribed by law and of this License make due return within sixty days Witness my hand and the Seal of the County Court of said County at Office in Pleasanton the 10th day of November A D 1860 Edward Walker Clerk. Forest Justice of the Peace Recorded the 16th August 1861 Edwd. Walker Clerk. David M. Yarbrough (1832 AR - 1868/70 TX), son of John Swanson & Cynthia Yarbrough. David and his brother, Alfred, are on the 1850 Medina Co. TX census serving as TX Volunteers. On Nov. 12, 1859 he enlisted under Capt. Peter Tumlinson in the Texas Ranger service and was discarged on February 10, 1860 after serving 2 months and 29 days. He served in the Confederate army in Co K of the 2nd Texas Calvary. On Dec. 19, 1865 he married 2nd Mary Ann Anderson in Atascosa County. David was listed on the Atascosa county Texas Voters list in July 1857 as a native of Arkansas. It is presumed that David died prior to June 13, 1870 the date of enumeration of the 1870 Atascosa Co. census that his wife Mary is listed on. David and Mary had one son David M. Yarbrough born on March 23, 1869. Nothing further is known about David. Rebecca Jones (1837 MO - 1862 TX), daughter of Kiziah Carroll Harp & Andrew Jones. Rebecca's mother married on April 11, 1846 Fannin Co., TX to John W. Brummett. Rebecca died on May 03, 1862 and was buried in the Brummett Cemetery, Frio Co., TX. Her headstone list her name as Rebecca Yarberry. David and Rebecca are only known to have had one child, Kiziah Yarbrough, born November 1861. In 1870 after the death of her mother and father Kiziah is listed with her aunt, Sarah E. Jones Taylor, on the 1870 census. 1870 Frio County, Texas Census 44 44 Taylor, Sarah 20 F W Keeping/H Texas Taylor, Felix 5 M W Texas Taylor, James 2 M W Texas Yarbrough, Kiziah 8 F W Texas Kiziah married on January 02, 1879 to John E. Shoemake in Frio Co., TX. She died April 01, 1893 and is buried in the Brummitt Cemetery, Frio Co., TX.
