Thence 43 W. 2000 varas from which a black jack 7" diameter marked 4.....125 1/2 acres Lot # 3. Beginning at the upper or N.W. corner of No 2 on Mill Creek.....108 acres. Lot #4 Beginning at a piece of rock set for the NW corner of a survey out of the same league for E.EIIiott thence N 43 E....165 acres [Elias Elliott] Lot #5. Beginning at the S corner of No. 1 on a post oak blazed 3 sides.....121 acres. Surveyed this 10th & 11th day of March 1851. Charles C. Arthur. Surveyor RETURN OF SALE OF LANDS In the county court March term A.D. 1851. To the Hon. Wm Bradbury, Chief Justice of said County. In obedience to an order of your Honorable Court at the February Term, thereof A.D. a851,1, the undersigned administrator of the Estate of George Grimes dec'd proceeded to sell on the first Tuesday (1st day) of A.D. 1851 at the Court House door in the town of Bellyille in said county at public outing to the highest bidder on a credit of twelve months, A negro woman, Monty, of dark complexion about 40 years of age & also the land belonging to said Estate, in five separate lots or parcels as divided by commissary appointed by your Honorable Court at the said February Term, thereof A.D. 1851 and the sales of said property were made as following to: The Negro Woman Minty being offered. John W. Collins offered the highest last and best bid for and became the purchaser of the said negro woman at the sum of $471.00 four hundred and seventy one dollars. The land being offered A.J. Grimes was the highest and best bidder for lot No. 1 containing 183 acres and became the purchaser of the same at $1.90 per acre making the full sum of $347.70. Thomas Bell being the highest and best bidder for lot No 2 containing 125 1/2 acres became the purchaser there of at $1.90 per acre making the full amount of 213.35. William Frumpter being the highest & best bidder for lot No. 3 containing 108 acres became the purchaser of the same $2.02 per acre making the full sum $218.16. Elias Elliott being the highest& best bidder for lot No 4 containing 165 acres less one used as the family burying ground became the purchaser of the same at $2.02 per acre making the full sum of $331.28. And lot No. 5 containing 121 acres was purchased by Archibald M. Miller being the highest and best bidder at $2.32 per acre making the full sum of $280.72. The plot and field notes of the said five lots as made out by the county surveyor under the action of the commissions are herewith filed as a part of this of which is respectfully submitted as a full return of the sales aforesaid. Before me, James E. Francis of the County Court of Austin County appeared Nathan W. Bush, Adm of the estate of George Grimes dec'd and made oath that the above is a correct and impartial report of the sale of land belonging to said estate. Filed April 1, 1851. Recorded May 15, 1851. March Term 1851. succession of George Grimes dec'd N.W. Bush administrator of the estate of George Grimes, deceased, having this day made a return of sale of the land belonging to the estate of said Grimes, dec'd sold by him in five several lots this day, April 1, 1851 according with an order of this Court at the last February Term thereof and also having at the same time made return of sale of the Negro woman, Minty, belonging to said Estate in accordance with the aforesaid order of this Court, the sale having been made at the same time of the sale of the land to wit on the first Tuesday and first day of april, 1851 and the manner of said sale having been inquired into & the Court being satisfied that said sales were fairly made and in accordance with and per....of the....order of this court, it is therefore hereby ordered and that the administrator make letter to the purchasers of said several lot of land & of the said Negro, there complying with the terms of sale. April Term, 1852 Minutes Succession of George Grimes deceased. Nathan W. Bush admin. of the estate of George Grimes deceased having presented his account May Term 1852 Minutes 32 Succession of George Grimes deceased. This day came up for consideration the Final Account of the Administration of N.W. Bust for settlement of the Estate of George Grimes deceased. The same having been examined by the court, and no objections or exceptions thereto being filed, it is considered by the court that said account is allowed and settled and shall be recorded by the clerk. It is therefore ordained that those of said heirs who purchased property at the sale of the personal effects of said Estate, and who have failed to pay their notes for the purchase money, take said notes to their full amount in part or in whole for their distribution shares of said Estate as the case may be. It is further ordered that the Administration pays over to the heirs entitled to said Estate the amount shown to be in his hands for distribution to each one their several portions as follows: 1) Frederick M. Grimes, a resident of Bell County $166.90 (one hundred and Sixty Six (0/100 dollars. 2) Abagail Bell of Austin County, $166.90 3) George W Grimes of Austin County 115.88 4) Margaret Bell of Austin County, $166.90 5) Nancy Grenville, Austin County, $166.90 6) William C. Grimes of Burleson County $166.90 7) Andrew J Grimes, Austin County $121.65 8) Samuel J Grimes, Austin County having overdrawn his shares pays to George Washington Grimes $33.58 9) Martha Ann Sapp of ___County $66.50 10) Lucinda Harrison of Austin County $4.14 11) Wright Alford as the surviving husband of Susan Alford, deceased 1/3 of said Susan's inheritance $55.63 in his own right, and a like sum the joint inheritance of Jane and Susan Alford minor children of said Susan deceased and said Wright Alford as the Guardian of said minors. To J. Hampton Kykendall as the guardian of Amos Kuykendall (minor) son of said Suas deceased - one sixth of said Susan's portion amounting to $27.81 To T. William Norcross as the Guardian of George Norcross minor son of said William and said Susan deceased $27.81 being one sixth part of said Susan's inheritance from her Father's Estate, and it is further ordered that said Nathan W. Bush shall be fully and finally discharged from all further liability in this behalf upon his filing proper vouchers with the Court showing that he has complied with this decree.
