Before turnoff to Smithville, take FM 153, northeast. Take Cnty Rd 200 to the right and cemetery will be on left side of the road after a sharp left turn. BASTROP COUNTY PROBATE RECORDS VOL G, page 668, 669, 670, 671, 672, and 673 lists the 1874 Real Estate sale of the John C. Cunningham property to pay off indebtedness. Two thousand three hundred fourty five acres were divided into 40 acre tracts. Each sale to be advertised for five successive weeks before the day of the sale in the BASTROP ADVERTISER, reserving the old family homesite. Lots sold to: Charles Hart, B.F. Jones, George W. Hunt, John A Redfield, L.W. Moore, George W. Jones, W.M. McKenney, Alex Ramsey, B.W. Hill, Reubin Carr, William Rogers, and J.C. Stribling. Cunningham Cemetery is located according to the platt in lot #10 and 11. Lot #10 was sold to George W. Jones as a 37.5 tract and lot #11 to John A. Redfield also a 37.5 acre tract. John C and Susan Cunningham married 1830. The Bastrop County 1850 census lists John C. Cunningham 56 years, farmer, b. New Hampshire and in the same household, Sarah 53 years, born in Texas. Bastrop County Tax Roll for 1850 lists J.C. Cunningham with 3,915 acres in the J.C. Cunningham Survey and 640 acres in the C. Edwards Survey and four slaves.
