Contact at Txtammy@hotmail.com for information on this file. ************************************************************************ HERRON CEMETERY BASTROP COUNTY, TEXAS SOUTH OF MCDADE LOCATION: From McDade, across from the McDade Cemetery, go south on Cnty Rd. 2336. Go 2 miles and turn left on Herron Trail (Cnty Rd.353). The cemetery is on the left in a pasture surrounded by a barbed wire fence with a 2 feet high rock wall. This cemetery involves two of four Watson brothers and the Herrons. The Watson baby son, who died 11/1/1872, was the son and first child of William S. Watson and Martha J. Herron, nicknamed Mattie, the daughter of John H. Herron. John's wife, M.F. Herron died two days after their child. Another Watson brother was the cemetery's trustee, Pleatus Thomas Watson. Pleatus did not stay long in Bastrop County, but moved on to Williamson County. The other trustee, William Anthony Wilson, was married to Georgia Betts. Martha J Watson, and possibly William S. Watson, are buried in the McDade Cemetery. There is a state marker for John Herron: John Herron, a Mina Volunteer In the TX War for Independence. A San Jacinto Vet.
