It is 6.7 miles South of the Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home on Texas Highway 195, formerly FM 440. The 440 Calvary Baptist Church members bought 3 acres of land for the cemetery which was acted on by the Church body. Mrs. Lorene Breeden Lindsey named the cemetery, Garden of Memories. Mrs. Margaret Pyles was the first individual buried in this cemetery. Her title of "Sister" is what the ladies of the Church called her. Informant was Mrs. Lorene Lindsey to Polly Peaks Elmore on 9 May 1989. This information was given over the telephone and is not generally known to the public.
